Patrick Smith
Chairman & CEO

Patrick Smith

Patrick Smith retired from Sprint in 2001, where he served as Senior Vice President of Systems Integration and Technology Planning for the company's Information Technology division for seven years.  There, he worked in concert with the Senior Vice President for Network Design and Planning and was responsible for the development of the One Sprint program, which has resulted in a substantial reduction in Sprint's costs for enterprise networking, IT infrastructure and development services.  He provided the technology vision and leadership for Sprint's entry into the Managed Services business, now one of the major profit growth areas in the company.  Prior to joining Sprint, Mr. Smith was the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Comdisco, and from 1983 to 1994, he served as the CTO for SHL, Systemhouse Inc.

Pat currently sits on the executive board as Executive Chairman of Wavesat,

is a Director for Gridpoint, and sits on the boards of Tranzeo Wireless and Level Platforms. He previously represented Sprint US on the Sprint Canada executive board for 4 years.

Bill Crank
President & EVP of Sales, Marketing and Business Development

Focused on driving growth and developing new partnerships, Bill Crank brings over 18 years of experience in the telecommunications industry to his role as President and Executive Vice President of Sales, Marketing, and Business Development of Natural Convergence.

Prior to joining NCI, Mr. Crank held the position

of Vice President of Sales at Ubiquity providing the

sales leadership and partner strategy to help

the company to an IPO on the AIM in May of 2005,

and eventual acquisition by Avaya in February

of 2007. Bill has also held several other

senior management roles including, Vice President

of Sales at Jetstream, Executive Vice President

CI Wireless Inc., President Wireless

Systems Consulting Inc., and senior leadership

roles of increasing responsibility at Ortel

Corporation, Allen Telecom Group and Motorola.

Bill specializes in Service Provider and Partner strategies in the

Communications Industry and emphasis on convergence and technology change.

Larry Strickland
Chief Technical Officer (CTO), & Vice President of Production Management

Larry joined Natural Convergence in 2001. He has now accumulated over 15 years of experience in the Telecommunications industry, with large and small companies, mostly in responsible positions within Product Line Management. During his time with Natural Convergence, Larry has been responsible for the definition of its current product line.

Throughout his career he has maintained a keen interest in tracking industry/technology trends - in the telecommunications industry, and within the greater client community. He is experienced with all phases of the product cycle: conceptualizing a suite of products, overseeing their development and integration, and bringing them successfully to market. Of particular interest to Larry are the challenges associated with delivering hosted-voice services to small businesses. Relevant to this endeavour, he has a number of patents filed and pending.

Prior experience, at Nortel Networks, taught him the ins and outs of many telecom systems that now surround the current suite of Natural Convergence products, including: Customer Relationship Management, Fault and Performance Monitoring, Provisioning, Billing and Integration software.

Steve Pequegnat
Vice President of Engineering

Steve joined Natural Convergence in 2006 as Director of Release Management and has provided strong leadership in process improvement while continuing to focus the team on meeting targets and timelines.  Most recently, Steve effectively managed the successful delivery of silhouette 3.0 which was the company’s most ambitious release thus far.

Steve has been involved in the “On Time” delivery of first class software products for much of his career including IBM/Rational Software where he was responsible for the Release Management of a number of product initiatives including the Rational Portfolio Manager product, the Visual Modeling products (Rational Software Architect, Rational Software Developer and Rational Software Modeler) and the Rational Developer Studio product suite. Prior to tenures at IBM & Rational Software, Steve was involved in the Release Management, Product Verification and Documentation initiatives for the ObjecTime Developer product set at ObjecTime Limited. Prior to ObjecTime, at Mitel Corporation Steve ran a development and delivery team which introduced innovative switching and applications products for the CTI markets. Steve has held senior roles in release management, product management, project management and development management throughout his career.

Andrew Skafel
Vice President of Marketing and RVP CALA

Responsible for leading the company’s marketing and communications strategies, Andrew brings with him a broad strategic perspective gained from his work with both multinational equipment vendors and a start-up network operator.  Prior to joining Natural Convergence, Andrew founded an innovative GSM operator in Brasil, taking the project from concept to fund raising, license acquisition and launch phases. 

A proven internationalist, Andrew was based in Asia for seven years where he worked for Newbridge Networks / Alcatel; Silicon Valley based, InterWAVE Communications and the Commercial Division of the Canadian High Commission (Malaysia).  His roles included strategic marketing, international business development and business planning.  Adept at complex negotiations and business strategy, Andrew has a track record of exceeding expectations and driving growth from new markets.

Andrew holds an MBA from INSEEC (Paris), a graduate diploma from the McRae Institute of International Management (Vancouver) and a BA in Economics & Politics from the University of Western Ontario.

Michel Moubarak
Vice President of Network Solutions

Michel brings over 17 years of telecommunications experience to the role.  He joined Natural Convergence in the early days of the company and has formulated the network architecture vision for Natural Convergence, in addition to leading the Systems Engineering team and the company’s interoperability lab.  As VP of Network Solutions, he is responsible to ensure the solutions that Natural Convergence brings to the market are optimized to meet the customer requirements and the company’s proven promise of simple to deploy, simple to support and simple to maintain.

Prior to joining Natural Convergence, Michel spent more than a decade with Nortel and its R&D arm, Bell-Northern Research, where he held roles of increasing responsibilities in systems engineering, product line management, network architecture and

technical sales. His areas of expertise spanned many elements of the Nortel portfolio, including voice switching, access, transport, data networking, voice over IP and network management. Michel has a strong balance of technical expertise and business acumen combined with a true collaborative attitude.

Lisa M. Graziadei
Vice President of Finance

Natural Convergence is fortunate to add Lisa to its’ senior management team as Vice President of Finance. Lisa’s extensive background in finance encompasses over 10 years of business acquisitions, business analysis, financial reporting, project management & financial system implementation and controls, creation and implementation of financial policies and accounting practices, customer satisfaction and service,  and profitable business activities. As an extremely competent leader with superior analytical and problem solving skills, Lisa has an innate ability to motivate her team to enable high performance.
